Harris County Jail has three separate facilities, all within one block of each other in downtown Houston. The 1200 Jail was built in 2003. Each floor has a multipurpose room, counseling room and recreation area.

The 701 Jail was opened in 1991 and is located at 701 North San Jacinto Street, Houston, TX 77002 (phone: 713-755-8430).  The facility can house roughly 4,200 inmates. It is a “Direct Observation Facility” where detainees are monitored twenty-four hours a day.

The 1307 Jail was completed in 1998. It is located at 1307 Baker Street, Houston, TX 77002 (phone: 713-755-2400). The jail can house roughly 1,100 inmates and is also the location where confiscated livestock is housed.
